Thesis Statement Generator

You have probably heard this set of words before. Thesis statement generator. Maybe you have asked yourself what they mean, or maybe you just ignored them and moved on. This article is here to educate you on what a thesis statement generator is.

Writing thesis statements is one of the hardest things to do when working on your academic research paper. It involves choosing the right set of words to represent what your paper is about, hence giving you the basis for the discussion you are to undertake.

A solution was provided to deal with this, and it is known as the thesis statement generator.

Paper/hr

What is a Thesis Statement Generator?

At the heart of every government are institutions. A president can change, but these institutions still stay in place. Each country has a treasury to manage its finances, ministries to manage different dockets in the country, and a security force to protect the country both internally. When a government changes, these institutions stay in place, even though their performance may change depending on whoever manages them.

The same can be said for thesis statements. At the heart of every thesis statement is an idea, and this idea is fed depending on the direction that the paper intends to take. This idea that is the heart of the thesis statement is referred to as the thesis template, and from it, many of these sentences in different variations can be produced. This forms the basis for the idea of a thesis statement generator.

Let me give you an example. You may want to write a research paper on children watching television. In your paper, you may want to write about the negative effects that watching television has to children. So, you may come up with an analytical thesis statement that says,

“Even though watching television may be educational to children, it carries a number of negative effects including limiting their social interactions, shortening their attention spans, and may not always be intellectually stimulating.”

With this thesis statement, your paper will concentrate on discussing these negative effects that have been mentioned at the heart of the paper.

However, I may have a different idea for the direction of my paper when compared to your idea. Instead of discussing the negative effects of children watching TV, I may be interested in the positive effects. So, my thesis statement may read:

Paper/hr

“The hours dedicated to children watching television should be increased as it has an array of benefits which include increasing their knowledge pool, entertaining them, and serving as a distraction when their parents are otherwise occupied.”

Now, look at these two statements. At the core of both ideas is the issue of children watching television. However, both statements take completely different directions.

The thesis template, in this case, is “children watching television” and using this, you can be able to give different thesis statements.

Therefore;

A thesis statement generator is a tool that can be used to produce thesis statements using a few ideas that the user produces. It takes the effort and worries out of coming up with a thesis statement that meets every requirement. Most thesis statement generators are available on article writing help websites, and to use them, you might be charged some amount.

Using a Thesis Statement Generator

Using this tool is fairly easy, and all it requires is that you have a basic idea of the topic that you are to tackle. It is done in five steps.

In the first step, you give the topic of the research paper that you are to write. For the thesis statements that I have given above, this would be “children watching television.” In the second step, state your main idea or opinion about the topic. In the examples above, this would be either “the regulation of the amount of time children dedicate to watching television” or “the increase in the number of hours that children watch television.”

The third step will be dedicated to answering the question “why?” What is your main argument against children dedicating a lot of hours to watching television? Why should the number of hours that children spend watching television be reduced? Give your main reason in this third step. Your fourth and fifth steps should be used to give supporting arguments for your main argument. You don’t need to expound on your thoughts at this point, just simply state your ideas.

Finally, give a concession point. For example, if you are of the idea that the number of hours children dedicate to watch television should be reduced, give one benefit of watching TV. You could mention that watching TV actually has educational benefits or entertainment ones. The function of a concession argument is that it gives the tool an alternative format for presenting your thesis statement as will be shown below.

After submitting the details above, the thesis statement generator will give you alternatives for your thesis statement, which you can pick depending on your preference.

The different ways you could present a thesis statement that is arguing to increase the number of hours that children spend watching television are:

“The number of hours that parents allow their children to watch television should be increased.”

“Even though it runs the risk of affecting a child’s attention, parents should increase the number of hours that their children spend watching television”

“The hours dedicated to children watching television should be increased as it has an array of benefits which include increasing their knowledge pool, entertaining them, and serving as a distraction when their parents are otherwise occupied.”

“While television runs the risk of affecting a child’s attention span, it has the benefits of increasing his or her knowledge pool, entertaining him or her, and serving as a distraction where his or her parents are otherwise occupied.”
