Throughout my lifetime, I have come across nurses caring for people they barely know but because it gives them personal and professional satisfaction, and they enjoy offering services. Nursing is such a diverse, challenging and worthwhile career that I actually find to be the best course for me. It is a course for people that are practical, reliable, and find it easy quickly to create the good and trusting relationship with other persons. Usually, nurses are behind the scenes making sure that everyone is cared for and they do not take credit for anything they have contributed to health care.
My desire to pursue nursing began ever since I was a child. Being raised by a mom that experiences breathing difficulties all times and suffering major cardiac arrest calls the need for anyone to be acquainted with some medical skills ,to help in case of any circumstances. Moreover, I was born with asthma. This made me have frequent hospital visits but little did I know that the visits were grooming me to becoming the greatest nurse. I actually think I was born a nurse. With the help of various medications, my asthmatic condition felt better. This further motivated me more, learning that health officials could use chemicals to solve the problems that many people are suffering from made me to looking forward to joining the nursing journey.
My great heart to serve and my undying urge to achieve what I have settled for has enabled me to make significant strides in this nursing field. For instance, when I was at Las Positas College in Livermore, I was determined to major in the medical field. However, I did not receive enough support from my parents or brother. This did not deter me from focusing on becoming the best nurse my country has ever seen. I sat down and figured out the right path toward achieving my career. I studied hard and graduated with an Associate in Liberal Arts and Sciences which enabled me to join University School as an honor student.
I want to use my nursing profession to maximize my potential fully and serve a wide range of people. I want to use my diverse personality to reach people and make a difference in their lives. I believe my ability to adapt to different situations, my ever- burning urge to learn more and more and my experience will be the wheels towards living my nursing dream.
